WAYNE BRADSHAW, founder of W.R.A.P. Defense, has over 30 years martial arts experience holding a 2nd degree Black Belt in Korean Karate. He also trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and holds the unique distinction of being one of Renzo Gracie’s first American students and a close personal friend. Wayne received Renzo’s world-renowned knowledge of Gracie Jui Jitsu on a personal level. He teaches others Gracie Jiu Jitsu in New Jersey and Florida. Wayne also had a very successful women’s self-defense class in New Jersey where the concept of W.R.A.P. Defense was honed (Women’s Rape & Assault Prevention).

Wayne’s police career spanned over 20 years covering various areas of law enforcement. It was during this career of investigating crimes that he realized the need to educate women on self-defense. Wayne worked as a patrolman and undercover narcotics operative. Because in most cases he had to enter a drug den virtually unarmed, he had to develop and depend on confidence and the ability to defend himself. He spent the largest part of his career as a Detective, investigating youth and sex crimes, which is where he gained some of the knowledge that he uses in his program. Wayne received many Letters of Commendation for the diligence, professionalism and compassion he demonstrated during investigations of sexual assault bringing many sexual predators to justice for their actions.

Wayne is retired from the police force but continues to extend his dedication to duty and justice by devoting his time and energy in educating women in self-defense.
