W.R.A.P. Defense Testimonials

I’d like to take this opportunity to share my experience participating in Wayne Bradshaw’s self defense class. As a single mom I feel it to be absolutely necessary to do all I can to protect my children and myself. Learning and practicing how to defend myself and be prepared if and when approached or attacked has helped me feel much more confident and secure everywhere I go. Each move shown was rather easy but very effective if done correctly. Having the chance to practice these moves each class made doing them second nature. Practicing on Wayne, who is a man of size, was also helpful in showing that as a female, I could do many things to stop him or harm him enough to at least get away.

During class Wayne also shared many for instances which kept us thinking as we worked on our moves and holds. He reminded us to always think ahead when you’re alone, walking in a parking lot, carrying groceries or holding your child’s hand. All very likely situations where an attacker has an easy opportunity to cause you harm.

Personally, I’ve also had great difficulty in dealing with losing my brother Jim on 9/11/2001 in the World Trade Towers In New York City. Following this tragic time, I felt much stress, uncertainty and a level of fear that seems to never totally go away. Taking women’s self defense gave me an outlet, a workout and a new focus that helped me deal with some of these emotions.

While practicing with a small group of women, we all shared our concerns openly and Wayne addressed each of them with an understanding ear and a kind heart. Every move we learned helped us feel stronger and safer. We were taught how to help avoid becoming a victim and if confronted by an offender, that doing something is always better than doing nothing. My alertness and handling skills also have developed. Class became something to look forward to because all of which I learned was effective and I enjoyed all aspects of the workout.

After attending my first class of women’s self defense, I encouraged every woman that I knew to take this class. I am grateful to Wayne for the time and knowledge he has shared with me and for giving me back some sense of security.

I have been taking classes in women’s self-defense with Wayne Bradshaw for about 3 years. I have become much more confident while out on my own. I am a nurse and I work in an environment that sends me into the homes of strangers where I could encounter anything or anyone inside or outside the home. I have gained a lot of confidence in my ability to handle confrontational situations. I know that I can defend myself if I were attacked by hand, knife or gun. I can even handle situations with more than one person. I think that all women should take these classes and learn to handle themselves in any situation. We need to stand up for ourselves and not let the situation take control of us.

Words to Live By

My name is Lori Sprizza and I am a Hospice Nurse. My position requires me to be on-call and this sometimes puts me in not-so-safe areas at all hours of the night. Because of this, I felt that I needed to learn some type of self-defense. I had the pleasure of being introduced to and then trained by Wayne Bradshaw. Wayne was the perfect instructor for me. His impeccable reputation, background in law enforcement and his knowledge of various styles of the martial arts made me feel like he was the right person to learn from.

The techniques I learned from Wayne were not only easy, but more importantly, they were applicable. His teachings instilled a confidence that allowed me to stay calm in uncomfortable situations as well as expect the unexpected. I now know how to react to "what ifs" and can and will defend myself through the knowledge I luckily obtained from my time with Wayne. He prepared me for virtually every unexpected situation and showed me techniques that work. This preparedness also allows me to transition flawlessly from technique to technique if need be.

I am not the type of person that wants to hurt others. But, I will defend myself if the situation should arise. Through the techniques I learned from Wayne, I am ready! ! !

" My name is Barbara Citro and I am a Florida Realtor. I had taken Karate for many years and achieved the level of brown belt. I was trained to defend myself, or so I thought. Although I felt confident in my own ability, it was not until I performed the moves in the WRAP Defense videos that I realized that very little of what I previously learned could be utilized to actually “defend” myself against a large, angry or determined attacker.

None of the moves shown in any of the videos were practiced in advance. Wayne wanted to show that anyone can be educated to defend themselves and that the moves were simple, non-complicated yet effective. Nothing that I did in any of the videos required strength but rather knowledge. The moves were amazingly simple yet alarmingly effective against a very powerful attacker.

I myself had been faced with a life-threatening situation. It was only by with what one might call “the luck of the draw” that I survived. Not everyone is so lucky. Due to this experience I firmly believe that no one should become a statistic. Everyone should possess the ability to fight back effectively in any of the possible “what if” scenarios that are exampled in the videos.."
